People Suck

I can see how this could quickly deteriorate into a rant...so I'll try to keep it to the point.
People suck. I have known this for a long time of course. They are generally rude, inconsiderate, ignorant, and selfish. Someone broke into my house yesterday, violated my privacy and sense of security...and stole our computers. Fuckin bastards! This really confirms it for me: I hate people. They just suck!
I'm not a religious person in any traditional sense, but I really hope that there is some sort of system of justice above our failing one here on earth. It seems like too often all the bad people win in our society and the good honest ones are left in the dust. It just isn't fair. So here's to hoping there is justice in the end!

A Day Well Spent

It's back to school tomorrow after a wonderful long and relaxing break. But what better way to spend my last day of the holidays - jogging around a beautiful park, a jem in the middle of East Vancouver, watching a pair of eagles swooping and diving just feet away, photopheasting, soaking up the rays of a weak winter sun, then coming home to a warm house and my love of loves. Mmmm.

Namaste

I need more days like today. Quench my parched soul. Renew and remind me of the things that I love. Revive the flow of energy through my tired body.

Namaste.

Wickaninnish Sabbaticle

We escaped the city, made off to Tofino and were greeted with beauty and romance as soon as we arrived at the Wickaninnish Inn.

Leaving everything behind, we let the stress melt away. We relaxed, enjoying each others company in the lap of luxury...

dining in the presence of twenty foot waves crashing on the rocks, amazed by the magic and power of the ocean...

having hot stone massages side by side in a hut on the rocks with the waves crashing right in front of us...

taking in specacular views all around us (this one was from our room!).

It was, without a doubt, a trip to remember and the best Christmas present possible. Thank you Robbie. I love you.

An outsider's view

Here's an article about Vancouver that just so happens to be written by a writer I quite like. On one level it pisses me off that he portrays Vancouver as being full of angry people, especially when he lives in Toronto! But on another, it's nice to see a critical perspective of our pretty city - it really isn't so perfect as Vancouverites insist!
I encourage you to read it, even just skim it over!
